Mike Slack Discusses Austin Ground Stop and Air Traffic Controller Shortage
Mike Slack, managing partner at Slack Davis Sanger, spoke with KVUE about last week’s FAA-issued ground stop affecting flights into Austin from Houston and Dallas. The issue, triggered by staffing shortages in the Austin air traffic control tower, led to delays on more than 450 flights.
Slack emphasized that these shortages are part of a larger, ongoing crisis: “There needs to be some remedial action taken to correct the staffing problems and ensure we’re operating with safe and adequate staffing.”
