Addison King Air Crash
In the early morning on June 30, 2019, a Beech BE-300 King Air 350i, twin engine turbine aircraft, registration number N534FF, was departing the Addison airport in Addison, Texas on a flight bound for Florida. Shortly after take-off, one of the power levers suddenly and unexpectedly moved toward the idle position without any pilot input, mimicking an engine failure in the left engine. The aircraft experienced a sudden and dramatic “yaw” which turned the aircraft nose toward the left engine that lost power. Within a few seconds, the aircraft completely lost control and crashed into a hangar at the airport, killing all eight passengers on board, along with the two crewmembers. Slack Davis Sanger represented the families of three passengers bringing negligence and product liability claims against the pilot, the operator, and Textron Aviation, the manufacturer of the aircraft.
